The real disappointment is a chain cannibalizing on the bitshares consensus. Thats disgusting. It is further disgusting to see a closed source system with no feedback to the the developer community. Not to mention central control over everything from board to nodes. There is zero need for a blockchain in BEOS. A database should be sufficient. It is further disappointing to see the contempt towards existing business, advocates, investors and enthusiasts. BEOS is the exact opposite what I learned 2 years ago when I first became fascinated with “the trusty robots”. A system without discrimination and equal opportunities for all. I understand the rhetoric. But let's be real: do you count the funds in your bank account as not your funds?

Normal people doesn't count it as not their but anyone who has some know how will instantly tell you its not their funds anymore.By law the bank owns the money and you have only a claim to these funds to the bank.Should the bank go fo any reason bankrupt your funds will be used to first pay of all the banks debt to institutional investors.At the end the rest if there will be some will be first given to the private investors. So yes i consider money and not just money but also stocks in any bank account or broker not as mine. At brokers its even more obvious since the stocks are registered on my brokers name even he used my funds for it.The only thing i got is a claim against my broker and nothing more.

anyway, what i tried to say is this: if an airdrop is not supposed to airdrop on all bts holders but some subset, then at least allow the owners to keep their stake (with voting power etc) by using vesting balances instead of transfers

Ive been in bitshares for nearly 2 years now... i dont vote, i set a proxy. Im very involved and know more than most whats going on. I still have no idea about witnesses, no time to keep up with every worker. Its impossible for the everyday person to vote properly and to be a decent proxy you need to spend a lot of time looking into this stuff. Not incentivising people to be proxys is holding us back IMO

i think this is something we should consider doing ASAP. i believe this is what Komodo is doing with their BarterDEX. i think such functionality would be far more compelling alongside everything else bitshares offers

perhaps. but then it's not really a bitshares thing, is it? and besides, why completely reinvent the wheel when orderbooks have already been developed and just need some modification for this purpose. also, there may be a possibility of having **combined** orderbooks i.e. some of the orders are with assets that are on-chain and some with assets that are off-chain, where the only real difference in UX is that matched orders simply take longer to settle if/when off-chain assets are involved
