It has became obvious that these types of attacks will continue as more and more new businesses join the BitShares ecosystem and new faucets are launched. User security becomes a paramount focus for the community. Below is a list of the changes we would like to introduce to allow BitShares users to protect themselves and mitigate the risk and impact of phishing attacks or any other attacks that can cause private key loss. Briefly, we propose the following changes: * To minimize risk of both keys being stolen at the same time: Separate Active and Owner private keys, encourage their storage in different wallets (preferably on different devices). * To minimize the impact of Active private key theft: Severely limit permissions for Active private key, while allowing to more fine-grained permissions control with Owner private key. * To minimize the risk of transactions coming from unknown sources signed with your private key: Introduce new Device-Tagged transaction allowing users to identify and block transactions sent from an unauthorized device and implement multi-signature accounts, essentially moving to 2FA. * To make keys and account management more secure and user-friendly: Create simple desktop and mobile applications that allow users to easily manage their accounts and private keys, create multi-signature accounts, sign transactions, enable auto-sign feature, and receive notifications for specific transactions. Separate, but not enough. What you mean by root cause? This proposal implements general approach to mitigate probability and consquences of this kind of attacks. Fixing specific root cause is not enough. The attacks will happen in future anyhow. The re should be a defence in place for those who care.

So there were 5 in the DexBot Group . (Marko, Permie, Crypick, Taconator, and Kimchi-king) The new Cabinet -exisiting proposal does not inlcude Taconator - and does include CryptoKong and Gabriel. for a total of 6. TacoNator has not been real active in the DexBot - and Gabriel joined the dexbot late helping out with PR. So All of the people in the new Cabinet have been active in the DexBot, and contributing in a variety of ways. But there are a couple of changes with reguards to who has choosen to contribute and how much.

And we plan to bring a lot more people into the Wallet Proposal. We sort of feel like the proposal is in startup mode now. Where the leaders are doing everything. After the DexBot got funded a lot of people showed up that wanted to help and sadly we had to turn them away. As everything was already sorted out or planned. We ran into a few too many cooks in the kitchen situations. This time we are looking to utilize more of these people. The cabinet wants to build the team and make sure things gets executed and going in the right direction. The cabinet, also feels it can sponser other proposals that we are less involved in, if there is a competent team in place. That said, we are here to serve BTS and drive innovative solutions forward however we best can.

[Worker Proposal] OpenLedger User Security Worker Proposal After a recent phishing attack, the OpenLedger team has gone through a series of massive brainstorm sessions, aiming to come up with a solution, which makes further attacks impossible, much harder or at least, that minimizes the impact of a potential attack. It has became obvious that these types of attacks will continue as more and more new businesses join the BitShares ecosystem and new faucets are launched. User security becomes a paramount focus for the community. Below is a list of the changes we would like to introduce to allow BitShares users to protect themselves and mitigate the risk and impact of phishing attacks or any other attacks that can cause private key loss. Briefly, we propose the following changes: * To minimize risk of both keys being stolen at the same time: Separate Active and Owner private keys, encourage their storage in different wallets (preferably on different devices). * To minimize the impact of Active private key theft: Severely limit permissions for Active private key, while allowing to more fine-grained permissions control with Owner private key. * To minimize the risk of transactions coming from unknown sources signed with your private key: Introduce new Device-Tagged transaction allowing users to identify and block transactions sent from an unauthorized device and implement multi-signature accounts, essentially moving to 2FA. * To make keys and account management more secure and user-friendly: Create simple desktop and mobile applications that allow users to easily manage their accounts and private keys, create multi-signature accounts, sign transactions, enable auto-sign feature, and receive notifications for specific transactions. When dealing with FIAT money you need at least a small banking licence (in europe) and you become immedietely subject to KYC and AML regulations

We had to sign up for that but we only need to do KYC/AML on fiat transactions, not crypto deposits. In fact, we don't even have to do it for deposits under 5k but Switzerland isn't in the EU so might have different laws and I think they still vary from country to country a little bit within the EU.

I have been using lykke for several months to sell a little BTC for euro and withdraw to my Greek bank account from time to time. Very smooth and fast. The fact that we can now send bts to lykke (which I have done) actually adds another step for me to withdraw euro. I must sell the bts for BTC then sell the BTC for euro.

Previously user were able to deposit BTC,ETH and trade them against each other But as part of Lykke application for licenses + to preserve its existing and future relationship with banking partners we had to apply KYC for all assets

What you linked is just the AML act, most exchanges are registered with Austrac however there is an exclusion period where you dont need to. Nowhere does it specify crypto requires this and also it mentions that there are reduced measures for low value customers hence why many exchanges have limits

Yes, you can. It has been done before. But don't expect any support when forking the way you just proposed. Example: liteshares. Completely independent and in my view failed. You could however make your own UIA and modify the Gui to be default to your UIA. It has been done by several. Look at DEEX for example.
