Worth noting Xeroc is always pretty clear from what I've seen on why he is voting for things and typically lays out a pretty considered view. I don't think you can ask for more than that from a proxy really.

I wished he pulled support for bsip42 as soon as they started screwing around with BitUSD. He was very clear he didn't approve of that, and wanted to wait for MCR fix, but he didn't follow through and thus hasn't acted consistently IMO. However, he did say he wanted to allow bsip42 on ButCNY, and so he is in a difficult position. If it were me I would have given a sturn warning that I'd pull the FOR worker and put in the NOT FOR worker AND pull support for witnesses caught using bsip42 on BitUSD prior to core MCR fix release. He is trying to appease the chineese. It's not a good example of leadership as a key proxy on ths issue. But where are the other committee members? When controverseys like this occur the committee should make an effort to publish where they stand. Some have, but IMO they all should.

Yeah I know but they are non-committee accounts (as in personal accounts even if they are held by committee members). The people getting margin called are feeling the pain of the price and losing their BTS - their main error has been optimism about what is going to happen with the price. I genuinely didn't think we would fall below 12c so I have some sympathy. The fall to 12c saw me lose a lot of BTS as I had to keep adjusting my margin down at a loss.

An MPA with UIA btc backing with a transparent provable reserve gateway would be ok to begin with for 99% of the community most likely, still a fully decentralised reserve is ideal but not sure would be possible yet, HTLC doesnt help decentralising the actual reserves

It's true that HTLC doesn't make the UIA trustless. But atomic deposits will be great and step in the right direction.

I take out a margin, then I set a custom key that allows the whale to withdraw a daily subscription fee from my account and a custom key that allows the whale to Update my margin order. If I get called, the whale packages a TX that has an op to transfer BTS to my account and an op to update my margin adding more collateral

Chinese community did really a lot for bitshares and are also heavily invested thats why it would be a disaster if bitcny would get a global settlement. The lose of trust would hit bitshares hard down and getting this big part of community back wouldn't be easy and bitshares might lose face in china. The big benefit are the synergies, but if you want a centralized, efficient control of your chain (which is probably in favor of centralized DEX) a fork makes more sense

I wonder if its worth adding a feature (if its possible) so that when users get margin called they can put some of their bts up for sale at a cheaper price. If a user gets called, funds are tied up and a lot of the time with no chance of call being filled. A user might anticipate a further drop and want to clear some debt before potentially having it sold at a lower price or having GS happen.

I actually thought this was how calls happen originally, and still think its probably better, would incentivise book building as if calls execute market sell order then a market maker could place bids fairly far away from market price in the (likely) hope of picking up cheap coins when calls happen

The problem is when we are dumping hard people hold off on making big buys in case it dumps further - when you have margins that big they just sit there. You could maybe have staged dumps so once your margin hits 1.3 20% of your margin is dumped at any price to reduce it. I know that would slam the DEX price down but better than the alternative. I guess the risk would be people send those cheap BTS to a CEX and sell them there pushing the external feed lower.

There is one more issue i have,that is not big deal but anyway;here on screenshot im on market "BRIDGE.QDP/BTS".This market is probably disabled,when i open any disabled market,the search on the right resets and returns to deafult,USD and below list of "OPEN" markets.

You can try to search,under qoute currency,put bts and find bridge.qdp market,when you click on it,the search on the right resets to USD,and sometimes the screen goes all white and i must reload the page.
