All payments are happening on chain and the merchant gets stablecoins like bitusd and BitCNY to his bitshares accounts . The transfer and exchange is done via Blocktrades right now.

That is interesting. He apparently has a very short memory then, b/c I tried to engage in convo with him and his crew at Anarchapulco 2017, and he claimed ignorance of BitShares and then excused himself and left. I do like Roger tho, for his passion that crypto can disrupt the corruption in mainstream financial institutions. He's human tho so isn't perfect. So many of us, me included, don't spend enough time praising and too much time being critical. That's something I work every day to change, but it's slow going. I beg for your patience.

There's some issue with Apple, @KenCode couldn't get his software approved. It's something I would like to tackle but I would need to get paid. I'm already in talks to get an iOS app paid for by get a small business loan.

Guys this isn't that controversial a statement I'm making? A bitshares spokesperson should be employed full time and as a condition of that contract they should not be permitted to promote or be paid by other projects. I have no idea of the going rate or Annemiekes calibre so can't comment on the wage but would I rather we paid $100k to have someone full time than $50k to have them part time and confusing things as to whether their endorsement for a project is in or out of their official bitshares role then the answer is the $100k option

Yes it shouldn’t exist. For example nobody in China is going to care about some random EU foundation to represent anything, you just go do it and maybe some people are better at it than others. Any worker proposal of such a thing should be about ‘marketing’ rather than some spokesperson.

The problem with that is coordination. When anyone is free to do what they want you can't control what gets out. Which means tons of potentially conflicting and harmful information that would, for example, make that legal opinion letter impossible (not that anyone has access to it, but that's another issue)

Well everybody's crapping themselves about the sec and what they say (probably because a lot of countries look up to the US regulations). So if the token is not a security, then suddenly it's more legit. In a decentralized system nobody controls anything and it leads to... Well , to nothing. The main reason for the spokesperson was for bitshares to have a face, someone who has a grasp both on legal and business stuff, who will clear the platform's public relations and improve image. You need a centralized approach for that.

This is a bug in the new release. As workaround, please go to the CNY_BTS market, and find the "Borrow" button there. It will open the margin dialoog

I found one more bug,when i go on "find markets" tab,and search,for example BTS market,asset name:"BRIDGE.T",then it list's all assets on cryptobridge that start with letter T.Then i click one any asset,and sometimes it resests my search to deafult (USD market and "OPEN" assets).If i want to check other assets that start with letter "T" i must type again under search "BRIDGE.T"..annoying. :/

Hm, happy to make a github post. I think firstly this kind of functionality shouldnt be in something called 'legacy' makes me as a user think this is somehow outdated when actually Bridges are a critical feature of Bitshares. Secondly, I think its a bit of a different user flow in that, when I deposit an asset I know I am going to get that exact asset. Whereas when I use a bridge I know I am depositing one thing, and getting another and there is some rate involved.

I watched the first 2 sessions, stopped at IOT (for now). I thought the 1st session was pretty good. I particularly liked the guy that made the distinction about revolutionary aspects of blkchn vs. evolutionary, not necessarily disruptive.

the regulatory restrictions are kicking in a lot of countries lately, especially enforcing kyc, like on shapeshift and india banning many centralized exchanges. i’m wondering when and if there is anything in the works by government attempts to ban/block dexes with no kyc? i’d hate to see that happen to bitshares dex
