Increasing user security is an important issue and is addressed in BSIP 40. It also opens a lot of use-cases for specialized and targeted keys for an account, making BitShares much more versatile and introducing a unique feature that no other chain has (best to my knowledge). 1) There is no BitShares entity who could check and enforce that. Although, the recence wallet will invoke some regulations on listed gateways in the near future 2) I would say each gateway is centralized as they introduce a single point of trust and failure and having multiple of them is decentralized it again

2) Fair enough. 1) I guess you can check the funds through a block explorer, I think witnesses should check that with each withdrawal or deposit that it is indeed 100% full reserve. Can’t imagine this isn’t checked TBH.

Interestingly, BitShares bitCNY (not shown above) has the most volume out of any other stablecoin except for Tether at the moment. Much of this is coming from use as a base pair on the exchange CoinTiger. This traction is especially interesting since the design of the BitShares stablecoin seems less effective than the other forms, as well as the likelihood that the BitShares stablecoins don’t seem to have a concerted liquidity provision effort behind them in the same way that TUSD might. Well, first of all, BitUSD or any other BitXXX is NOT USD. It's an entirely different asset. Second: The only sure thing is that you get the collateral (BTS) to the value of the settlement price - 1% third: Bit assets are influenced by supply/demand issues which sometimes are huge. fourth: The Feed/settlement price is the median of many delegates and numerous sources.
