You were aksing for opinions earlier, to that I would say that I do think it is fair to pay out in 2018 HTD, on 2019. And I would adjust USD payments as appropriate for the real value of bitUSD. In my mind, this is a business and accounting issue, and is fair and in line with the intentions of the money. The work was done and is sort of a pending payout. The fact that business processes take time, weeks and months to do properly, and that the due dilligence and repairs take time are side effects of proper business processes. I would not object to a new 2019 hack the dex being approved and realize this is the best way to due it, but getting the new one approved, is not assured, could take weeks to months, and could then one could even argue that the work was completed prior to period would not qualify. However, it is done. As long as it is transparent to the community I think that is ok. (But that is just my opinion.)

My opinion on this is in part, biased by having written worker proposals. It is hard to write a proposal with highly fluctuating currencies, and in a way that takes account of every potential contingency. Yet, make it interesting and exciting enough it passes. I think that busienss, (work)- needs to be protected from the politics and fluctations of politics and governance. I mean I live in a country where the governement just shut down for a month... (Yet, much work wnet on.) (But that is just my opinion.)

i really want to like this project and actually the UI does seem to have a nice, fresh **look**. but functionally i see nothing that will appreciably help with adoption. i don't think it would be too difficult to address ease-of-use in a very meaningful way, but it seems there is no desire to do that

Guys i take full responsibility for being a idiot allowing these guys to take my funds and thankfully I have more than one wallet. .just a suggestion for the development team, if a warning box could show up everytime a wallet is opened giving a notice of such things like this it would atleast put you on the alert for anything out of the ordinary. I'm in favor of making it stupid easy for individuals to spin up a node on Google, AWS, Azure, etc. Please suggest how we may support this and provide some cross reference data points a User could access to self-validate their node. Thinking out loud now: The hash of the genesis is the chainID, right? So, we should know from `--replay-blockcahin` if we are on the proper chain. Maybe my tin foil hat is too tight.

To validate a new node, the user could start a latencyTEST.py in `UNIVERSE=True` mode and add their node to the `universe` list in `global_lists()'. This will assert correct chain, not stale, responding rapidly. Then user starts metaNODE.py. In a third terminal the user could `tail -f whitelist.txt` to see if their node shows up on the whitelist which changes every few seconds. This means it is providing statistical mode data relative to rest of network.

Your 'interest' is limited by the sine wave, the rate is high but its bounded. Even if people are force settled there should be sufficient collateral unlike bitassets which are impacted by both bts and fiat prices.

The only lender is the issuer when they borrow the asset into existence with their BTS. How people trade it once sold is an unknown. I certainly wouldn't consider the buyer of an mpa to be a loan shark as they didn't issue the asset in the first place. I wouldn't say its entirely a zero sum game though.

This is a token in the Bitshares network, it is not a basis but a derivative. For me personally, not requiring trust is a piece of real gold, in the blockchain they are assets secured (in the blockchain), bitCNY, bitUSD, bitGOLD, etc. This is where you don’t have to go through KYC and AML, where I don’t have to enter my mobile phone when registering. Even the good old Bitcoin does not require when registering the purse of your mobile phone or entering email.

Would you prefer they use a different chain? Bitshares is someone else's chain? Whose chain would it be? I would counter that Stan Larimer was one of the founders of bitshares and a founder of Quintric it seems. If anyone has claim to build a project on bitshares blockchain and not be referred to as a parasite using someone elses chain it would be him.

I see kyc as an issue too. I also see that getting a mtl or being a mto requires certain parameters, one being kyc/aml. I would prefer companies services I use or those building on blockchain be compliant legally...otherwise how will they protect their users? Fiduciary responsibility for your customers is pretty key to adoption imho.

It was quite a wake up call for me to hear so many "greed" comments directed towards those who thought they were helping out by being the ones who shorted the assets into existence for others to use. How could the bitAssets have been our main feature if there were none? The shorters were performing a valuable service. And I was a long shot from having the lowest collateral when the assets were blackswanned by the drastic fall in bitshares price. But that didn't protect me.

I totally agree. I think BitShares should be run like a profitable business, and then dump the profits into features needed by the blockchian world for mainstream development. Running an organization, is complex, and with a decentralized organization, it is potentially even more complex, but it should be run like a business with a goal of profitability and developement in mind.

Yeah. And I think there is alot more R&D that is needed. Now most of the Alt Coin projects are not going to survive. They will fail, bitshares is positioned much better than average to succeed. We have a product, a viable business model, customers, a use ect. That said, things are changing so fast, we cann't afford to wait around. We need to be thining about the future and developing in as many ways as we can.

short and sweet, you clone bitshares-ui, put your logo on it... better yet make a new UI.... then in ui make "featured markets" point to your UIA's, perhaps obfuscate path to competitors markets, issue some UIA's with backing; maybe $50k funds. Then move real funds in and out of dex when users wish to convert UIA.crypto for real crypto in a timely automated manner. Doing so timely is the service which gets users to trade in your markets, pay you trading fee premiums and exit fees. anything "openledger" "cryptobridge" "rudex" etc. is going to be proprietary... so no examples I know

What? They would send the uia to your account name. If you're meaning you want to create a gateway, then the gateway aspect is propriatery to gateways.
