It is backed by bts. When bts value declined, more bts was required to sustain a backing >110%. Which led the loans to default and thus the market (as opposed to the feed price) take over the valuation. This will rectify itself once the value of the collateral once again is greater than the smart coin value.

I am not sure who this comment is directed too. Yes. all BitAssets can fail. Many have, BTS was down about 95% from the highs earlier in the year, volume, trading, liquidity and market cap on smart coins are all down. Untill there is a revival in BTS prices. (BTS has to about double), these assets will stay in global settlement. If BTS falls additional assets could also go into global settlement. The reason the assets have so low volume now, is because they are in global settlement. People are holding them, in anticipation of taking profits, selling them for more than face value, when they rise.

Depends on what your expectancy is. The most simple and not-so-trustworthy approach is creating your own asset on the Blockchain with a description of what it's supposed to be and a promise that you will personally hand over the real word asset if anyone should ask you to do so

It was a ground up redesign of the entire bitshares UI catering to usabiliy, im not sure if specifically it was to have the fields you said but they only got 20% into it and got cancelled so who knows. Proxies im referring to are pretty much all the chinese proxies none of whom have voted for dexbot for some reason

reserve pool and workers are there to add value, a new UI is valuable given the massive amount of daily issues people have with the DEX UI, just see many of the exchange support inquiries, its not easy to use for people currently. So the more competing implementations the better, i dont see why we should only have one implementation and thats it. If it adds value it should be voted on, particularly given the reserve pool is in the tens and sometimes hundreds of millions.

i really have to disagree on a number of fronts here. the reference UI is quite good and very comparabale to most crypto trading UIs, notwithstanding the inherent difficulty with so many assets from multiple issuers. granted, a coinbase (coinbase "classic" NOT coinbase pro) style UI could be very helpful. but i really don't think that is what Rossul was aiming for. so assuming they were planning a supposedly better "professional" style UI, i just think at these prices it makes zero sense, especially considering there is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that the product will actually be noticeably better or even as good. also, i think it's important to take into account the *possibility* that crypto prices could go substantially lower. that could lead to dilution that would make revival of bitassets even more difficult. so i think it's prudent to be just a little more careful about spending.

If a standard CB UI styled platform is the goal, it should be possible to do that given the current UI with a different front end. In that way a simple front end could be build off the reference with continued support and improvements. A reference for pro's and another simplified for newbies.

by far the most important WPs are for core development and reference UI. right now you won't see the one for core dev active because it was just submitted. but the reference UI worker is active. also important are the infrastructure and documentation workers, and those are both still active too. another good one is the mobile app, which is also active. it would be nice to see a couple additional workers, but i would personally be satisfied enough FOR NOW if we could get DEXbot voted in. that's another pretty critical one

Higher fees counters 'worker dilution'; voting out productive workers directly harms bitshares future and scares off devs. Its really short sighted of these proxies, not that they care at all about bitshares. It's straight up a Trump move to deny worker payment until you get what you want.

To me that sounds dangerous. I guess I have always been on the losing side of high frequency trading. I recall reading "Flash Boys" by Micheal Lewis. To me the open order books of BitShares, where I could see all orders, all trades, and all wash trading was a huge advantage over other exchanges where there could potentially be a lot of monkey business.

Because it would allow every CEX to basically be audited nightly as all accounts are settled on the BitShares blockchain. I could also see this being great for games -aka BitFarm- which had two high of cost to be effective on BTS.

My General opinion on Flash Trading and the monkey business of high frequency traders in Wall Street is they just need to pass a law that all trades are delayed 1 minute. If I am making a trade -either I want to make it or not- And the fact that some new york firm puts an order on the chicago stock exchange at a slightly better price so my order gets routed to Chicago, partially filled then routed back to new york, where their fiber optict network is faster than mine, and they take the orders off the book -offer me a worse price- ect. Is Nonsense. All this beating by milliseconds is nonsense. Once an order is put out, it needs to stay out, -no cancelling 99% or orders. (because they have faster fiber optic). Those things don't add value.
