My (admittedly biased) opinion: More active traders mean tighter spreads. Tighter spreads (and low fees) bring more traders. Some traders are technically adept, others are not. Making an interface that caters to new traders is a good thing IMO. But that is only part of the picture. Allowing people to pay for their coffee is a good thing too.

I'm a customer of Interactive Brokers customer. Their UI is horrible. But I don't care, as I don't use it much. Some do, and it gets the job done. But they'd get more customers if they'd fix it (it has been years). But they have a crutch: The US exchanges are the market, so liquidity is not so much of an issue.

It could, but not atomic swaps by themselves. An atomic swap is a transfer. So it affects trades on bitshares the same way that a gateway transferring coin into your account affects trading... only indirectly.

I’ll add my input here, since it is not too relevant to the discussion on the forum. As a core member, I look at the feasibility of a proposed change. I see nothing impossible in the bsip, although any addition of logic will slow down the system. There seems to be already a fair amount of logic around tallying votes, and it is not without cost. Adding more logic will make that process longer. Investing some time in optimizing that code and any new code may soften the blow.

This is true. I dont think the intent of BISP 22 is to effect democracy on BitShares, but I do think that something needs to be done to solve for apathy and political deadlock. Thanks for the inputs!

As a BSIP threshold would makes sense. Voters can define seperately how much % you need to get funding (via refund worker), and how much % is needed for consensus to change (via BSIP threshhold)
