When i buy an easydex.pb token it says 50% fee will be sharedropped on holders, Mcdonalds delivered the burguer as stated in the description easydex.pb token has clearly not delivered on what is being said in the description, ok they dont have enough fees collected? Understandable, all im asking is for the description of the asset to be updated to reflect TRUTH

I just re-read it, and bangzi's suggestion for a `multi level proxies`. Was surprised to see Dan Notestein support multi-level proxy concept. I respectfully disagree with both of them and here's why. Proxy voting was implemented without recognizing how much power would become centralized in only a few hands. It was designed for the sole purpose of resolving shareholder voter apathy. BitShares needed a solution, b/c the apathy was making it difficult to manage the ecosystem, as voting is required to elect witnesses, committee members and worker proposals. It was becoming difficult to get things done. Voting proxies did resolve that, but also introduced a highly centralizing effect on power distribution. It meant BitShares added another change to the POS model (besides Delegation) where amount of stake = power, to a proxy using other's stake to amass power thru the power of persuasion and politics. It changes the essense of power from stake to stake + persuasion, with not much requirement for stake on the actual proxy. I see multi-level proxies as making the problem of power centralization worse, allowing proxies to amass even more power than they already have under the present, single tier proxy scheme. Although a decaying vote weight (bsip22) will not affect proxy power in a significant or immediate way, it does help by eliminating votes from dormant, dead, and accounts with lost keys. It also (over time) insures the voter remains attentive to their decay period in order for their designated proxy to utilize the users vote weight. Decaying vote weight could target only shareholders who designate a proxy. That should reduce processing time greatly too, if only a small % of accounts designate a proxy. For those who vote directly they always use full vote weight. This provides a direct incentive for voting responsibility by A) accounts must [ vote|touch|re-designate ] their weight to proxy or it will gradually decay to zero, or B) unused or otherwise dormant accounts would no longer affect proxy power (after the decay is complete). We need direct incentives for voters to get and stay involved in helping to manage this ecosystem. Proxies don't do that. A proxy system only incentivizes people to defer their responsibility to others. I prefer systems that encourage critical thinking and personal responsibility.

I agree with your assessment, the bitshare voting system feels very centralized from an outsider point of view. Power hungry people like to keep powers to them selfs.

The problem with "outsiders" and worker proposals is most outsiders don't take enough time to study the ecosystem or the problem well enough to write a BSIP spec. Most think an idea is all they need to contribute and "the team" should take it from there. In that regard I can see it being difficult for most newbs.

IMO the centralisation problem in BitShares lies within the proxies... They are the ones holding all the voting power and they are the ones who make the decisions at the end of the day. Decentralization is not boolean / binary, it's gray scale. There is also more than one way a crypto project can become centralized. In PoW systems it can happen through mining pools, thru electric power companies if China wanted to seriously slow Bitcoin they could simply decree it illegal to supply power to Bitcoin mining facilities. You might argue 21, 27 or 101 block producers isn't adequate decentalization for the world, but so far it's worked out nicely. There is no upper limit on of witnesses (committee sets max # actually), so the system is designed with expandability as needs require.

I read earlier xeroc is going to write up a new BSIP for experimentation with BitEUR and BitUSD. Not sure, but I believe he will write the bsip according to the alternate approach (fixing bug in MCR and making adjustments to MCR) discussed at BitFest. for bitCNY now the premium are between +-0.4% for somedays without manual price feed code adjustment, this does not mean it will be always not necessary in the future, even before BSIP42 implementation witnesses sometimes need to adjust code for better tracking market price.

I’m not sure how bitshares would implement it, but any prediction market is usually a prop algo or, in the case where it’s an RNN (for example) me it’s never transparent because you neural nets go through a whole series of data processing and munging in its own system. BSIP42 doesnt need to be inactivate. The main question is how we decide that its a success and if moving on to other BitAsset is appropriate. So far the chineses community has pushed that, and now you see that decision being carried out on the witnesses backs. In a perfect world this would have been a consensus decision among the witnesses without any forcefull push, but that didnt happen

We should be open to thinking about improving bitassets. But the Blockchain should know the true prices from the outside world via feeds. Manipulation of true price data is not the answer for a better bitasset

BSIP42: - enforce feed price that tightens the peg (with a yet non-stable code base, completely different story) - effectively MCR is lowered and settlement promise of SmartCoins is broken - hope the market agrees, market price catches up to feed price at which point all is good - open the liability question if witnesses are doing price manipulation Suggestion: - return to previous price feed - allow witnesses to adjust MCR based on premium to incentivize a tighter peg - hope the market agrees and the market price (as well as feed price) move towards a tighter peg - maintain settlement promise, but let the market decide what MCR is acceptable in order to have a better peg IMO a SmartCoin with 175% collateral (additionally you can send it around the world in 3sec) must be worth more than its FIAT counterpart.

I'm totally with you on that @Mylimbsarelong . MCR adjustment is currently not possible due to bug. In both cases I stated in the linked message, the possible outcome is a tight peg and market price ~= feed price. bitCNY had enough liquidty to follow the forcible price feed approach and is now in good agreement with market price, so what you see now is actually very close to the truth. But the cost was a bigger deviance over the last weeks. One issue is that the current forcible price feed on bitCNY carries the possibility (in severe market conditions) to break the smartcoin promise again (meaning market price deviates heavily from feed price).

In China, if I want to sell a gift iPhone to someone else. I can ask that buyer to pay the fiat CNY to any agent dealing with bitCNY in-and-out of the BitShares. It'd be pretty cool though to settle such an MPA into a portfolio of backing collateral assets, imagine as a new trader depositing FIAT, exchanging it close to 1:1 for the MPA then settling it into a portfolio of crypto assets - simpler than trying to exchange the EBA.FIAT to each individual crypto on the BTS DEX.

yes but people should have the freedom to do it if they want to, so implementation of it should probably proceed. For example bitHKD would be great if it could be collateralised with BTS and bitUSD as in real life the HKD is pegged to usd @ 7.85. So if you wanted to take less risk shorting you could collateralise it with bitUSD etc

There is an error with the bitshares refrence wallet. If you create an asset, then issue say 10% of the tokens, then later come back to issue more tokens, the equation testing whether the issuance will create more than the maximum supply is incorrect. I really like the BEOS idea and think a bit of centralisation could go a long way to making something that could steal a march on EOS. I also think it's good for BTS as its integrated. The power grab thing...depends how it's set up. The way it's worded at the minute is that they'll be voting pro-BEOS measures which is a logical desire for anyone 'staking'. Voting wise I think Michaels also a pretty decent proxy in general, whatever other concerns people have about some of the historic projects he was involved in at some points. My main concern is the staking tbh - I'll be interested to see the set up for that. There have been loads of hacks and people going rogue, would I be comfortable sending my BTS to a third party account? I have no concern that Stan or Michael would steal my meagre holdings but is there a risk of some a-hole getting into their team? Or some outside hack?Tricky.

BEOS presented a really interesting concept and got me curious. I d like to be involved simply from a technological point of view. I don't like that I am supposed to leave the BTS native chain and remove my bitAssets from circulation, nor to give up my voting freedom, as I like to decide that myself as I am very active in that matter. Questions: A) I am wondering how the legal ownership of the token will be. Am I giving up ownership of my BTS on the BitShares Blockchain when switching to BEOS? Or in other words: If the new chain goes bancrupt, hacked or simply doesnt function due to bugs / upgrade, will the gateway be able to give back the shares to the original sender? Or is that supposed to be some kind of investment and all BTS would be lost in the above-mentioned cases? B) Is the active/owner key of gateway account on the BitShares Blockchain solely owned by the gateway and merely the voting rights are proxied? C) Any options to participate without weakening the BitShares SmartCoin economy and giving up my voting power? Where would it best to post those questions? @onceponatime @StanLarimer

Bitshares platform is nearly dead due the UX & UI is bad for the beginners, when the coming features become stable to use for the public, the volume will become for sure.. so I think spent 1M isn't Ridiculous!
