The ability to edit or change voting whilst still proxying would help keep people involved. Ie: proxy voting but if a proposal comes up they didnt vote for you could add your weight without affecting other votes. Also removing a vote from a proxy on your behalf.

I think voter apathy will be greatly reduced after a few more bull runs

misbehaving block producer can be dismissed within hours. Next

What is it good for ?
It's good for jurisdictional transaction agililty for Bitshares trading. It will enable Dapps to be built that will utilize Bitshares. It can basically enable many major players who are waiting on the sidelines due to regulatory uncertanty, to jump in. What they are worth in value I have no idea and frankly don't really care. It will be a place for Dapps that utilize Bitshares to live.

because you can't control the location your transactions take place in the network today. In BEOS you will be able to choose where they do.... you don't see this in EOS because EOS doesn't have it.. and as I just said.. many organizations around the world want to get in.. but want the regulatory certainty.. BEOS does that.. it is the only graphene offering i have seen that actually addresses this niche need in the market which I know is in demand.

So @Digital Lucifer, stan and michael would be happy to answer questions about BEOS in this channel, but they are banned. They have asked, through me, to be re-admitted. So I suggest you ask in one of the channels where they are active. I myself cannot post links in this channel in which I was once an admin :-) And Dan Notestein, who is the contract developer of the BEOS project, is the person to ask about blocktrades I would assume. I have never been offended by one of Stan's Bible quotes. He is not making them to offend anyone, just that's a big part of his life and comes out of him naturally when he communicates. I have also not been offended on my own behalf by any of the memes I have seen in here. But I have found some posted memes to be thinly disguised viciousness directed at some people or their ideas or their naivete. And that offends me. Wouldn't you agree?

I see no reason to honor defectors a soapbox to promote a EOS clone. We have never supported TELOS in this room as example.

actually, discussions about the bsip itself may not necesserely be the best place to discuss the content of it, rather its form. Discussion about whether its a good idea or not should IMHO be in the forums or where most BTS holders see discussion (once a bsip is available ro be voted on), however, then it is too late to modify the content which makes discussion with general public during construction of the bsip a good thing ... Hence, i believe we should discuss Bsips in this channel, and that includes lessons learnd from other chains. since that kind of voting isnt available on peerplays yet, all we can do is discuss the idea, not the implementation, nor its implications (we dont know them yet)

You will.. current outlook for at least testnet is May complete with GUI support... that is for the complete GPOS implimentation though. Voter decay is only one part of the equation to create a sustainable voting mechanism in blockchain gov. in my analysis. It's good bitshares is taking steps to improve voting.

campaigning in blockchain gov = effective updates of activities. Those who keep transparent about their doings will be the ones that people vote for. It doesn't need to be onerous either.. just keeping a running blog of activities is more than approx 90% of current bitshares witnesses do... this would be a significant improvement.

It's not the wrong way around. It is simply the differnece between how a market is traditionally labeled (Base/Quote) vs. how a price is mathematically represented (Quote/Base) .. I'd suggest, as I have many times in the past, to label the price with simply the Quote currency like all other exchanges in the world to avoid this confusion.

2019-02-19 23:29:51 UTC you have approved a proposal that updated your account, allowing the attacker to control your account.
The attacker needs to use a gateway to exit, and is using blocktrades at the moment. Contact them to get it blacklisted, recovery of your funds seem unlikely though

There is no need for name calling or accusation. The proposal was created by the attacker, the victim only "needs" to push a button that shows a pop to update their account. There's nothing to gain from the victim by faking that. It is lack of education in matter (the UI needs to (and has) improved in that matter).

It's not the wrong way around. It is simply the differnece between how a market is traditionally labeled (Base/Quote) vs. how a price is mathematically represented (Quote/Base) .. I'd suggest, as I have many times in the past, to label the price with simply the Quote currency like all other exchanges in the world to avoid this confusion.
i'd vote for 'correct' over 'convenient' labels, hence would stick with a label quote/base. it is maybe inconvenient and untypical but much more clear .. but, i am a nerd .. not a trader

⚡️You should know that every 1000 blocks comprise one round, which means that all funds received for tickets sold during one round will be transferred to the winner of this round. There will be a new winner each round. The round lasts for 50 minutes.
🎲 You can buy no more than 100 lottery tickets at a time from one account. Yet you can buy several times 100 bts each. Amounts above 100 bts sent to the dex-lottery account will be held for the jackpot of the current round.
🍋 A new winner is determined by the random selection of the BitShares blockchain block validator (witnesses). For example, if a round starts with block number 12345000, the winner will be selected with the signature of the witness with the block number 12346000. So no one knows for sure who will win, because it's impossible to predict who of the witnesses will sign a block at the end of the round. Please take into account that this exemplary round begins at the block 12345000, ends at the block 12345999 (1000 blocks exactly), and the winner will be calculated at the block 12346000.
👌 At the same time, this block number will be the 1st block in the next new round, which will end in block 12346999, and the winner will be selected depending on the witness signature at the block 12347000.
👍 Tickets are sold in sequence. For instance, if Alice makes the 1st transfer of 5 BTS then 1-5 tickets are sold to Alice. Bob makes the 2nd transfer of 2 BTS, and 6-7 tickets are sold to Bob. So that if Alice transfers 3 BTS after that then 8-10 tickets are sold to Alice.
😏 Thus in the example above, only 10 tickets are sold, and Alice will have an 80% chance of winning, while Bob will have only a 20% chance of winning. The more tickets you buy, the more likely you win.
😜 At the end of each round (exactly at each 1000th block), the bot will select the winner by the signature of the witness of this block and make an automatic transfer to the winner, except for the transfer fee.
